Featured Properties on your Website

The Featured Properties tool available for your website is more powerful than many of us realize. Most agents use the default setting without considering the alternatives available.

Here is a review of how the tool works: To access the Featured Properties function, hover over Site Builder, slide to Content, then click Featured. There are three main sections:

  1. Main Page Featured Properties
  2. Thumbnails Page Featured Properties
  3. List (Resume) Featured Properties

The Main Page option controls what is automatically displayed at the website home page if a Design Center layout that contains Feature Properties is selected.

The Thumbnails option controls what is displayed when the web visitor clicks the Featured Properties for Sale Callout or a content page Featured Properties link. Each property included is automatically displayed with a thumbnail photo and property details.

The List (Resume) section allows you to display properties you have already sold so the website visitor knows your production level along with your current listings. To include a sold property in the list, add it through the Manual function under the Listings button. You can then select to have that link chosen at the Featured Properties for Sale Callout or any content page featured properties. Note: You can change the title of the public facing link for any content page item to better reflect what the website visitor will view at that link.

Each of the above three sections can be used in identically the same way, or they can be set up to present properties in a different manner, since each section offers the following alternatives:

  1. Display My Listings (listings associated with your MLS agent ID)
  2. My Office’s Listings (listings associated with your assigned office)
  3. Multiple Office’s Listings (listings associated with office(s) that you select from a list)
  4. Listings where I specify MLS agent ID’s or listing #’s

Use the Module Settings link to select the above choice you desire to display.

Individual characteristics of the various choices:

  1. If you select Display My Listings, anytime you do not have listings, the system will temporarily switch to your Office Listings so you do not have a blank area or link that states Zero Results.
  2. For Office Listings, you can set a price range at the bottom of the Featured sub-tab. If no properties fit that price range within the office, the Featured Property icon/object will not display until at least one office listing does meet the price criteria.
  3. For Multiple Office Listings, select the offices from which the program should randomly select listings.
  4. If you use the option to specify listing numbers, you must update the option manually. When an entered listing number is no longer included in the feed to the website from the MLS, the listing will automatically no longer display as a featured property.

There is even a Featured Properties widget we can use at 3rd party web or vendor sites. To access this function, while in Site Builder, slide to Widgets, then click the Search button. You will be amazed what you can do there!
